Terms of Service

Last updated: May 2026

Welcome to API Bouncer. By accessing or using apibouncer.com (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. About the Service

API Bouncer is a free, editorially curated directory of public APIs. We aggregate links and metadata about third-party APIs to help developers, students, and hobbyists discover useful tools for their projects. We do not host, operate, or control any of the APIs listed in our directory.

2. Use of the Directory

You may use API Bouncer for personal, educational, or commercial research purposes. You agree not to:

3. Third-Party APIs

The APIs listed on API Bouncer are operated by third parties. Each one has its own terms of service, privacy policy, pricing model, and uptime characteristics. When you use a listed API, you do so under the API provider's terms — not ours.

We make a good-faith effort to verify that listed APIs are free to use and operational, but we cannot guarantee accuracy. APIs change, get rate-limited, become paid, or shut down without notice. Always verify the current terms and status of an API before integrating it into a production project.

4. No Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that:

Health-check status indicators ("alive", "dead", "unknown") are based on automated probes and may be outdated or inaccurate. Treat them as a hint, not a guarantee.

5. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, API Bouncer and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of your use of the Service or the third-party APIs listed on it. This includes loss of data, loss of revenue, downtime caused by a listed API, or any costs incurred by relying on information in our directory.

6. User Submissions

If you submit a report, contact message, or API suggestion, you grant us permission to read, store, and act on that submission. We may use submitted information to improve the directory (for example, removing dead APIs or adding new ones) but we will not publish your contact details without your explicit consent.

7. Intellectual Property

The original editorial content on API Bouncer — including our guides, category descriptions, FAQs, and the design of the site — is owned by API Bouncer. You may quote short excerpts with attribution and a link back to the source page. The list of APIs themselves consists of factual references to public services and is not claimed as our property.

Logos and favicons displayed alongside API listings belong to their respective owners and are used only as visual identifiers under fair use.

8. Advertising

API Bouncer displays advertisements served by Google AdSense. We do not control which specific ads appear and do not endorse any product or service advertised. See our Privacy Policy for details on how advertising cookies are used.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any disputes arising from your use of the Service will be resolved in the appropriate courts.
